Improvisation Class: How An Improv Class Can Make You 10x More Productive

Aug 26, 2022

Whether you’re just starting out with improvisation, a seasoned performer looking to add new skills, or someone who works in the office looking to gain some more confidence speaking in front of a room full of board members – Improv Asylum can help you achieve your personal goals.

In improv, you learn to be who you are and to trust your instincts. You become more confident about expressing yourself in public and dealing with difficult situations. When you know what you have to offer and know how to bring it forward, you are in charge of your own power. You can act deliberately, focus on one goal at a time, and make decisions that are grounded in your values.

We offer various classes to help kick off your improv journey! It’s the ideal first step if you’ve never taken an improv class before. Over an eight-week period, you and your class will be having fun as you are led through various games and exercises that will loosen you up and get you comfortable being creative on the spot and eventually… doing your own improvisation scenes!

We’ve developed 6 unique improv class levels that will each help you to discover newfound confidence and freer, more relaxed selves. Our philosophy on improvisation is straightforward: we teach you the elements of good scene work. By learning the fundamental material that lead to exemplary scene work, students can apply them to whatever style of improv, public speaking, acting, or writing that they so choose. We emphasize positive choices and the unfailing assistance of your scene partner. And we do this in an environment that is, above all fun and accessible to all experience levels.
