August Kees is originally from Olympia, Washington, and has been performing at Improv Asylum since 2022. They got into improv comedy the way that most people do – by going through a catastrophic breakup and signing up for Level 1 classes to make new friends. After that, August became hooked on all things improv and is super jazzed to now be joining the Instructor team!
August is a founding member and producer of the all-queer comedy group Fruit Basket and a longstanding House Teams performer. Other Improv Asylum credits include The Pride Show, Tight Five, Taylor: The Last Jedi, Lit Night, and Monthly Today’s News Tonight. They have also been in various comedy shows around the city, performing improv, stand-up, and sketch comedy.
