People start nervous. Then the room starts to feel like a room full of teammates.

That is the point. Discover Improv is built to help people get comfortable one game at a time.

Adult Workshop Questions

If you are curious but not totally sure you are the "improv type," this is exactly the kind of weekend Discover Improv is built for.

No comedy resume required.

You do not need jokes, characters, stage experience, or a loud personality. You just need to be willing to try.

What if I am not funny?

That is completely fine. This workshop is not about arriving with jokes. It is about learning simple improv tools, listening, responding, and getting more comfortable trying things.

What if I am shy?

Shy people can do improv. The exercises are structured, the room is supportive, and nobody is expected to be loud or fearless on day one.

Do I need acting or performance experience?

No. This is a beginner workshop.

Will I have to perform?

The weekend ends with an informal showcase, but it is designed as a celebration of what the group learned, not a professional performance or audition.

Can I come by myself?

Yes. Many people take improv because they want to meet people, try something new, or do something creative outside their usual routine.

Is this only for people who want to be comedians?

No. Some students love comedy. Others come for confidence, communication, creativity, or connection.

Youth Camp Questions

Discover Improv is built for kids and teens who are curious, creative, nervous, outgoing, or somewhere in between.

The goal is growth, not pressure.

Students get structure, encouragement, and room to try. The showcase is a celebration of practice, not a high-stakes performance.

Does my child need theater experience?

No. Discover Improv is built as an entry point. Students do not need acting, improv, or comedy experience.

My child is shy. Is this a good fit?

Yes, as long as they are willing to try. Improv gives students structured ways to participate, collaborate, and build comfort gradually.

Is this a performance camp?

The weekend includes a relaxed family showcase, but the main focus is confidence, creativity, communication, listening, and play.

How are age groups handled?

Students register by age group so they are working with peers at a similar developmental stage.

What happens during the showcase?

Students share some of the games and skills they practiced during the weekend. The tone should feel celebratory, not competitive.
